The Willink is a high performing and oversubscribed school. In 2018 over 80% achieved the GCSE benchmark of 5+ grades 9-4 and 30% achieved A*/A at A level. The school has 1080 students on roll including 160 in the Sixth Form, and is situated in a pleasant semi-rural setting south west of Reading. The school’s Ofsted judgment in June 2018 was exceptionally positive. As a Teaching School we can offer the successful candidate excellent support and professional development.

Full-Time/Part-time (0.8 -1.0 FTE), Maternity Cover

September 2019 – August 2020

We require a committed colleague with a real passion for the provision of quality and imaginative teaching to join an experienced, supportive and high achieving English Department (90% GCSE grades 4-9 in 2018). The post is for one year in the first instance.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach English language and literature throughout the school and across the age and ability range to GCSE. There is the opportunity of teaching A-Level for a suitably qualified candidate.

Teacher of Spanish

Pay scale: MPR/UPR

We are seeking an inspirational classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge to join our very successful MFL Department (90% were entered for a GCSE in MFL in 2018). It is desirable though not essential that the successful candidate can teach a second language. The school offers French, German and Mandarin alongside Spanish. The successful candidate will teach to GCSE. There is also an opportunity to teach A level.

Head of Learning

(Management Allowance 2)

Full time; MPR/UPR; September 2019 start

One year temporary post

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, motivated and inspirational teacher to the role of Head of Learning. In addition to their teaching commitment, the post holder will be required to lead and ensure the highest possible attainment of a year group of up to 208 students. The year group will be decided upon following appointment but will be KS3. This role is supported by a non-teaching Pastoral Support Assistant, a team of tutors, plus specialist intervention staff. We welcome applicants with teaching expertise from across the curriculum.

 Library Resource Centre Manager

Required for September 2019 (or earlier)

Grade F £21,166 - £24,799 Full time equivalent

37 hours per week (44 paid weeks/term time only).

Actual salary £17,860 - £20,926

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic person to manage the school’s Library Resource Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for the acquisition, organisation and dissemination of resources ensuring the area contributes effectively to the delivery of the curriculum and whole school objectives. A love of learning is expected and experience of working in a school environment is desirable, but formal experience of working in a library setting is not essential. The role involves supporting students in their learning. This is an exciting opportunity for the post-holder to take a leading role in moulding future developments.
